Project Overview
VAAKA required a digital experience that could do more than simply showcase and sell a product.
Because the balance introduces an unconventional way of measuring coffee and tea, users first need to understand what it is, how it works, and what makes it different from traditional measuring tools.
The goal was to create a website that combines product education, visual storytelling, and e-commerce within one cohesive experience — allowing the product’s character and functionality to unfold naturally as users move through the page.
Challenge
The main challenge was presenting an unfamiliar physical product without overwhelming users with explanations.
Its form immediately creates curiosity, but its purpose may not be obvious at first glance. The interface therefore needed to gradually answer three essential questions: What is it? How does it work? Why would I use it?
At the same time, the website needed to preserve VAAKA’s distinctive visual identity. The product combines precision, craftsmanship, and ritual, so a conventional e-commerce layout would not communicate its character effectively.

Results
The refreshed identity gave Kindred Coffee a stronger visual presence and a consistent brand experience across its website, packaging, and social media. The new system helped build recognition while creating a more memorable connection with customers.
